Official Launch of Ga Adangbe Toronto’s Cultural Hub:
Toronto, ON, March 28, 2024 – The Ga Adangbe community in Toronto is thrilled to announce the official public launch of its groundbreaking online platform, gaadangbetoronto.com. This vibrant digital hub, already live, will be officially unveiled in a grand ceremony scheduled for April 21, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Driftwood Community Recreation Centre, 4401 Jane Street, North York, Ontario. The event promises to be a significant milestone, marking a new chapter in the community’s efforts to promote cultural education, unity, and engagement within the Greater Toronto Area.
A Symphony of Voices: Leadership’s Vision for the Future
Christiana Naa Nuamah, President of the Ga Adangbe Toronto Association, expressed her enthusiasm for the launch, stating, “This website is more than just a platform; it’s a living archive and a testament to our rich heritage. It’s a bridge connecting our past with the future we aspire to build in Toronto.”
Vice President John Ahoni echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the role of the website in fostering community engagement: “gaadangbetoronto.com is a beacon for all Ga Adangbe people in Toronto and beyond. It’s a place where our stories, our culture, and our dreams converge.”
Secretary Patricia Osekere highlighted the educational aspect of the platform: “We’re committed to providing a comprehensive resource for cultural education. Through this website, we aim to enlighten, inspire, and cultivate a deeper understanding of our traditions.”
The community’s spiritual leaders, Toronto Ga Mants3, Nii Kwei Aku V. and the other substantive chief Nii Kwashie Kwei Nsro I, and NII Otokunor Banfro II, Naa Akuyea Afriyea Sika I (Toronto Queen Mother – Toronto Ga Many3), Naa Merley Abuatu I and Naa Kai Mansa Dadekotopon (Sub-Queen Mothers – Toronto Ga Manyem3i), Dr. Isaac Nii Akrong as the High Chief Priest: Nii Nai Wulomo, Nii Ogbame I (King Maker), Asafoatse: Nii Okaitei I and Asafoaste Abuoaboni I (Clan Heads) collectively shared their blessings for the project. “This platform is a sacred space that honours our ancestors and the legacy they have entrusted to us. It’s a tool that will strengthen our bonds and ensure our cultural practices are passed down through generations,” they stated.
